The Lifestory of Janie Kirschten

About Janie - December 1944 - August 2007

Janie was a beautiful person. A loving mom, wife, friend, sister, grandma, aunt and teacher. She touched so many in her life. All she gave will be with us always.

A Life Well Lived - December 1944 - August 2007

Janes life was way too short - but full none-the-less. She held true to her beliefs and showed her spirit and strength to those around her. Janie was the consumate host! Her ability to make those around her welcome and included is a great and lasting legacy.

Family and Faith - December 1944 - August 2007

Family and Faith were central to Janies life. Her family was wide spread - but she kept them close to heart. She was the devoted grandma! She was the guiding spirit for her family . Janie never lost that spirit. Her life was full .. having served in the Church as teacher and spiritual guide. Her LOVE of GOD was central to who she was and how she lived. A devout Catholic - she embraced all faiths and welcomed all into her life. Her compassion for her family faith and friends will be held in high regard.

A Fight for LIFE - August 2007

GOD saw you getting tired and no cure was meant to be
So he put his arms around you and whispered "come with me"
A golden heart stopped beating - hard working hands at rest.
GOD broke our hearts to prove HE only takes the best.
When days are sad and lonely and everthing goes wrong
We seem to hear you softly say cheer up and carry on.
We miss you more than words can say.
We keep the faith that we will meet again someday!

Janie was diagnosed with breast cancer and despite many heroic efforts on the parts of many - she wasnt able to win this fight. Her family devoted their time to being her support and she devoted her time to teaching them about living life. She courageously fought for nearly four years but as the poem states - God saw her getting tired. She lost her fight on August 22nd 2007. She is finally pain free and reliving her life to the fullest!!

Gods Garden

God looked around his garden
And found an empty place,
He then looked down upon the earth
And saw your tired face.
He put his arms around you
And lifted you to rest.
God's garden must be beautiful
He always takes the best.
He knew that you were suffering
He knew you were in pain.
He knew that you would never
Get well on earth again.
He saw the road was getting rough
And the hills were hard to climb.
So he closed your weary eyelids
And whispered, 'Peace be Thine'.
It broke our hearts to lose you
But you didn't go alone,
For part of us went with you
The day God called you home.
